Excellent Minimal Tech-House mix from one of the most prolific DJs on the netlabel scene. Lembrouille seamlessly ebbs and flows through various flavours of dancefloor orientated material anchored by the solid pulse of a 4/4 beat.

Lembrouille hails from Brittany in France and to show some solidarity with some rather energetic friends running in the 42.2km marathon in Paris he produced this 42.2 track netlabel mix ! The mirroring of the mix on Polymorphic coincides nicely with the passing of the London marathon last weekend :)

Lembrouille may not share his friends energy for distance running but he undoubtedly wins the contest when it comes to effort spent on the netlabel scene. He produces weekly mixes for the Melenick Session on Livesets.com and has an archive of around 50 freely downloadable / distributable mixes on his site released via the Internet Archive and netlabels such as Op3n ,Inv3rno and Zerinnerung. Dancefloor mix utilising tracks sourced from the netlabel community. The mix is liberated from many of the traditional DJ constraints by the immediate availability of the source material and the flexibility / ease of use of the tools involved. The MP3s were mixed using a Hercules DJ Controller and bundled software. Slightly more focussed than the first installment, this compilation investigates some of the more atmospheric / leftfield releases from the netlabel community.

The adventure takes us through organic digital art, ambient reflection leading to introspective and subtle arrangements. Sonic oddities interperse computer generated sound fields offset by guitar based compositions / manipulations. There's even the odd song to be found ! Just as we're comfortable in our cocoon we rely on the angular punk/funk/rage of the Beat Is Murder label to shake things up a little which, I think, is what they're all about..

This mix is a showcase of the Boltfish and Rednetic labels. Our man in the control J.Auer treats us to a blend of very classic sounding electronica which bristles with pristine clarity and deceptively simple melodies. You can hear the Detroit influence bubbling away under the surface on many of the tracks which provided much enjoyment when we previewed the material. The assembler dates from around October 2001. It's a compilation from multiple sources including vinyl, CD and MP3. The mix covers a lot of ground including electronica, jazz and even a little kraut rock! It vears into a small micro house mix towards the end before disintegrating into the sonic art of Matmos and Autechre. Fridge play us out and leave us smiling. We were very fond of Fridge's "Happiness" album at the time so it gets sourced a few times.
